Nakshi Kantha is the storytelling embroidery of rural Bengal. Three or four layers of soft, washed cotton are stacked together and quilted with a simple running stitch in coloured thread — forming motifs of fish, paisley, lotus and the patterns a grandmother once taught her granddaughter.
Every blanket we ship is the work of one woman, start to finish. Forty to eighty hours of needle-work. No machines. No outsourcing. We use OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified cotton threads — safe against a newborn's skin — and pay our artisans well above the regional average.
We are a manufacturer in Dhaka, not a reseller. Your blanket leaves our floor and arrives at your door — factory direct.
